The Mac preview is free. It needs macOS 26 or later and a microphone. Allow Accessibility access if you want automatic text insertion. Without it, you can still copy and paste.
A little setup, then local speech.
Speech and polish models need an initial download and free storage. Mac can download them automatically on an unmetered connection. Settings shows which engines your device can run.

Before you try it.
Does my voice leave the device?
Not with local speech engines. If you select API transcription, audio goes directly to your chosen speech endpoint after recording. If you also select API polishing, text and cleanup instructions go to your chosen polishing endpoint. Neither goes through a Murmur server. Read the full privacy policy.
Does it work offline?
Local transcription and cleanup work after the required models are ready. Downloads, purchases and optional online transcription or polishing need a connection. Engine availability depends on your device and language.
Can I use it in another app?
On Mac, start with the global shortcut and insert into the focused text field. Some apps restrict insertion, so Murmur also puts the text on your clipboard. On iPhone and iPad, start a keyboard voice session in Murmur, return to your other app, then use Record and Finish in the Murmur keyboard. A changed input needs a tap to insert. Password fields and apps that block custom keyboards are not supported.
How much does it cost?
The Mac preview is free and has no checkout. The planned iOS offering has a free allowance and optional Pro through Apple. TestFlight purchases use Apple's sandbox, not real charges. We will show final App Store pricing before the iOS release.
Is this a replacement for checking my writing?
No. Speech recognition and cleanup can make mistakes, especially with names, numbers and specialist terms. Review important text before you send it.
